Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2024 BMW X5, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install, this Draw-Tite class III two inch hitch receiver. Adding the two inch hitch receiver to the back of your BMW X5 is gonna give you a few different options. It's gonna allow you to haul bike racks, which is what this owner of this vehicle's gonna be doing. You can haul cargo carriers if you need extra space on the carrier to make more room inside. Or you can pull small trailers, like if you want to tow a trailer, you will want to be sure to pick up a wiring kit so that you at least have four-pole wiring. more

Today we have a 2023 BMWX X5 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Stealth hitch with the tow package on your vehicle here. Now before we get into a bunch of the other details, I want to explain the first and foremost and most obvious differentiator from the Stealth hitch to all the other hitches available for the X5. The X5 is a very, very good looking car and the last thing you want is a hitch receiver tube sticking out the back, especially one of this length, it kind of takes away from the car, especially if this hitch goes in five years, starts to rust. Well the Stealth hitch is designed so that you turn a knob, you can pop that receiver tube out and then there's nothing left on your car to see. With the towing kit, you're gonna get a receiver tube, which is for accessories only, so bike racks or cargo carriers and then you're gonna get a ball mount which is the only thing you can tow a trailer with. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver on a 2019 BMW X5. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on the BMW, and it's really nice that it's a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, and that just means you're gonna have plenty of options when choosing bike racks, cargo carriers, or ball mounts. Another pro of this hitch is it's a hidden cross tube, in fact, this one bolts up behind the impact bar, so the only thing that you're gonna see, is the receiver tube opening and the safety chain loops. Now all of your accessories are going to stay in place with a five eighths pin and clip, and this is not included with the hitch, a lotta times when you pick up accessories, they'll have one included. But if you wanna pick up a locking version, we have plenty of those available here at Etrailer, which is really nice if you plan on leaving your accessories on the vehicle, you can lock it in place, and know that no one's gonna walk away with your accessories Rolled-style safety chain loop is nice and open, allowing us to put a standard S hook, or even a larger clevis style, when hooking up your trailer. And speaking of towing, this one's rated at some pretty serious numbers. more

Now right off the bat, we'll show you one of the biggest feature that everybody likes about this hitch is that this receiver tube can drop straight out of here and you're left with that clean factory look. Push in, rotate the knob, the receiver housing can come right off. Today on our 2015 BMW X5 we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the curt class three custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number 13077.So here's what our hitch is gonna look like once we have it installed on our X5. The cross tube's going to be completely hidden behind the bumper and all we're going to see is the receiver's tube sticking out of the very bottom of the bumper here. It's going to give us a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, so we're going to have a lot of different options for whatever kind of accessory we want to mount. The way we're going to mount our accessories, the hitch pin hole here on the side and it is going to accept a standard five ace pin and clip. These aren't included in the kit, but you can pick them up here along with some locking devices to keep your accessories safe at etrailer.com.The safety chain connection points are going to be a loop style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube. And as you can see, we'll have plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 BMW X5 - Draw-Tite- Video

Today in our 2015 BMW X5, we'll be having a look at, and installing the Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver. Part number 75600. All right, here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, our hitch sits nice and tight up against our fascia, with the main frame of it hidden completely behind our fascia. It fits in nicely in the factory cutout, in our fascia as well, so there's no trimming required. On the side of our receiver, you'll find two pinholes. The larger diameter one, is our 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pinhole, which we use to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 BMW X5 - Draw-Tite- Video

Today on our 2013 BMW X5, we'll be installing the "Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver," part number 75600. All right, here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's completely hidden behind our bumper cover. The only part you see hanging down is the actual 2-inch receiver itself and the safety chain loops right here on the bottom of the receiver. These safety chain loops are really easy to use, since they're a round tubular design. You can even hook in the smallest diameter safety chains in there without a problem. This Class III hitch is rated for a max gross trailer weight rating of 6,000 pounds and a max tongue weight rating of 600 pounds. more

Today on this 2008 BMW X5, we're going to show you the Hidden Hitch Class III 2-inch receiver hitch, part number 87455. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on the X5 from BMW. There's not much to see. It's just a receiver that sits right below the bumper. It has a 2-inch opening right here with a rounded collar, kind of softens the edge up a little bit, and if we look further back onto the receiver opening here, we have 2 holes. Your ball mount and your accessories will always use a 5/8 of an inch hitch pin hole. more

Today on our 2008 BMW X5, we'll be installing the Curt hitch, part number 13077. Here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a bike rack, ball mount or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 3 1/2 inches and from the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 14 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. To install this hitch, we're going to need to remove the lower fascia off the rear of the vehicle. To begin with, we'll need to drill out two pop rivets that are in the inner fender well on each side. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2004 BMW X5 - Hidden Hitch- Video

Today on our 2004 BMW x-5, we'll be installing the Hidden Hitch, part number 87405. Before we begin our installation, here are a few measurements to help you when selecting accessories such as, a draw bar, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver to the ground, measures 19 1/4 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of the bumper measures 4 1/4 inches. Now let's go ahead with our install. To begin our installation we will need to remove the rear bumper fascia. To do this we will go ahead and remove the center over here by simply pulling on it. With that done, we can move to the wheel wells. We're here on the back where the fascia attaches we will remove the two bolts. more

Okay today on this 2011 BMW x5, were going to install part number 75600 from Draw-Tite. All right this is what the hitch looks like once its installed on the vehicle; next well give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 13-3/4 inches. The center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper will be about 2-3/4 quarter inches. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. Our first step is go ahead remove the bumper fascia, well start off by removing three plastic pop rivets on each side on the inside edge of the thunder well, these plastic rivets have to be drilled out. more
